Why a clean hood matters

Grease in your exhaust system is the single biggest fire risk in a commercial kitchen, and it's the first thing your insurance carrier will check after a claim. NFPA 96 isn't optional — it's the fire code in New York, and your certificate of occupancy depends on it. We give you a clean system and the paperwork to prove it.

What 'full system' actually means

A real cleaning means bare metal from the hood interior, through every linear foot of duct, all the way to the fan blades on the roof. If a section of duct doesn't have an access panel, we cut and install one. If the rooftop fan hinge is seized, we free it and replace the gasket. Anything less and the fire risk is still there — it's just out of sight.

Built around your service

We don't shut your kitchen down. Most jobs run between 11pm and 5am, after dinner and before prep. You walk in to clean hoods, a fresh sticker, photos in your inbox, and a kitchen that smells like degreaser instead of burnt grease.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How often does my hood need to be cleaned?+

NFPA 96 sets the cadence by cooking volume. Solid-fuel cooking (wood, charcoal) is monthly. High-volume frying and char-broiling is quarterly. Moderate-volume cooking is semi-annual. Low-volume (churches, day camps) is annual. We'll recommend the right schedule and stick to it.

Will my insurance company accept your certification?+

Yes. We provide an NFPA 96 sticker dated and signed, plus a written report and before/after photos that satisfy every insurance carrier and health inspector we've worked with in Western New York.

Do you clean the rooftop fan and the full duct, or just the hood?+

Full system — hood, filters, the entire duct run, and the rooftop exhaust fan. Cleaning only the visible hood leaves the actual fire hazard untouched, so we don't sell that as a service.

When do you work — do we have to close?+

Almost never. We work overnight or between services so your kitchen is ready for the next shift. Schedules are coordinated to your hours, not ours.

What's included with the cleaning?+

Hand-scrape and degrease of the hood interior, baffle filters cleaned or soaked, full duct cleaning to bare metal where required, fan inspection and belt check, written report, before/after photos, and the NFPA 96 inspection sticker.
